    Northamptonshire Titans 70-44 Stockport Lapwings

This was the very first time these two clubs had met in JNBL competition. Titans got off the mark through Captain Kenny Hamilton and with 7 different Titans players scoring, the visitors struggled to contain the home side, however Stockport found success from range and were only trailing by 1 point at the end of the first period.

Titans ramped up their defensive energy whilst Tegan Millar and Lauren Dabbs went to work on the scoreboard and Titans took a 37-20 halftime advantage.

Stockport rallied in the second half but Titans at no time were giving up the lead and run out worthy winners at the end.

Next weekend Titans travel to Derby as the two unbeaten teams in the north go head to head for the first time this season.

    Newcastle Eagles 60-95 Northamptonshire Titans

Titans made the lengthy journey up north to the home of the Newcastle Eagles where Eagles had found life in the top-flight tough going.

The long journey certainly affected Titans in the first quarter; Eagles managed to stay with the Titans throughout even though scoring runs from Jude Carmichael and Sam Grant gave the Titans a 5-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

Titans defence took over the second quarter only allowing Eagles to put 3 points on the board and with Titans offence cruising the visitors were in total control to the final buzzer.

Coach Powell used all his bench well and was rewarded with all 12 players making the scoresheet.

    Northamptonshire Titans 77-54 Leicester Warriors

Titans ever improving performance secured the win against Leicester Warriors. After a tentative start Titans played strongly as a team both defensively and offensively, pushing the ball up the court and driving hard to basket which took the girls to the foul line 11 times in the first quarter alone. Gaining a comfortable lead, Coach James could rotate the bench giving important minutes to several young players. Supported by the older and experienced team members the youngest Titan Talani Akanmu showed off her natural defensive talent, picking up 2 steals and 2 rebounds in as many minutes. Abby Smith was also showing her true colours as she too hustled strong and distributed the ball well. Charly Stalker made the Titans family proud in her first game after significant injury by making the score sheet and playing with a high level of energy.

All the Titans girls contributed to the win with teamwork as the most important attribute.

City of Birmingham II 49-87 Northamptonshire Titans

For the fourth consecutive game, the whole team contributed to the points total as Titans U14 boys continued their winning streak against City of Birmingham II (CoB). Although CoB fielded a young team, they competed well and exposed Titans defensive flaws throughout the game. Titans had managed to open up a 13-point lead by half-time, but Coach Round was disappointed with the overall performance. After a rallying talk during the mid-game break, Titans came out with a better attitude for the second half. After a series of steals and fast-breaks, the 28-5 third quarter in Titans favour took the game beyond CoB’s reach. However, to the host’s credit, they put up a good fight in the fourth period, which they only lost by two points. The final buzzer sounded with the score showing 87-49, so Titans maintained their unbeaten record in the league. The most satisfying aspect of the team’s offence was the spread of scoring across the team, but there is still work to do to tighten up the defence.

City of Birmingham II 86-53 Northamptonshire Titans

Titans Purple made the journey alongside the U14 boys to compete against City of Birmingham (CoB). This new squad are making huge strides on each outing and although were 24-10 after the first quarter, managed to pull back to stay with Birmingham for the second and third quarters bringing the score back to 56-45 after the third. Tiredness set in during the fourth and Birmingham had their strongest quarter of the game taking the final score away from Titans. Coach Watson congratulated his team on their effort and determination and noted positive signs for the future.
